Newcastle United & Liverpool receive transfer boost as Premier League rival pulls out of race for £30m star
Brighton and Hove Albion have decided against making a move for Newcastle United transfer target Crysencio Summerville during this summer transfer window, according to a report from TEAMtalk.
The Magpies are determined to bolster their right sided attacking options this summer as they aim to climb back into a Champions League qualification spot after a seventh place finish last term.

Together they scored a total of 16 league goals and provided 13 assists - earning Gordon an England call-up, and fans would suspect that Barnes is not too far away from winning a second Three Lions cap if he can avoid another injury-hit season next time around.
However, the right hand side of attack ultimately proved to be less productive. Paraguayan winger Miguel Almiron, who was instrumental in Newcastle’s fourth place finish in 2022/23, managed just three goals and one assist in the league while Jacob Murphy showed slightly more promise with three goals and seven assists, but that was by far the best numbers he has registered in six seasons in the North East.
At 30 years-old and 29 respectively both are heading towards the latter period of their careers and it is suspected that an ambitious Newcastle team will look to strengthen that area of the attacking department with a young and exciting prospect.
The Athletic has previously reported that Leeds star Summerville is one of the top names on the Magpies wishlist after an outstanding season in the Championship which saw him score 20 goals and provide nine assists in 46 appearances to win the league’s Player of the Season award. Summerville is just 22-years of age and is a player with huge potential to continue improving. Furthermore, he is also likely to offer the club huge sell-on potential if he is a success in years to come.

Hide AdLeeds boss Daniel Farke rates the star highly and is keen to keep hold of him if possible for next season's promotion bid. However, it is understood that the Dutchman is now ready for an opportunity in the Premier League after the club’s failure to achieve promotion to the top-flight after a loss to Southampton in the Championship play-off final.
The likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and French giants Paris Saint Germain have been credited with an interest in Summerville and Leeds are facing a major battle to keep hold of the attacker. However, Brighton were understood to be Newcastle’s main rivals for the player’s signature but it now appears that after the signing of Yankuba Minteh from St James’ Park, makes them happy with the wide options that they already have at their disposal.
Reports suggest that a figure of around £30m will be sufficient to prise Summerville away from West Yorkshire in this window. It is widely believed that the attacker is one of the final four players on Newcastle’s shortlist of potential right winger options alongside Chelsea youngster Noni Madueke, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo and Wolves star Pedro Neto, as reported by French journalist Jacque Talbot via Football Transfers.
