Newcastle United bonus ‘plan’ to snatch Barcelona ace plus fresh competition for striker

The Magpies take on Tottenham on Sunday afernoon, as they look to put that painful defeat to Everton before the international break firmly behind them.

Coutinho bonus

Newcastle continue to be linked with a move for current Aston Villa loanee Philippe Coutinho.

The Barcelona midfielder has impressed during his loan spell, and the Midlands club are likely to attempt to activate their £34million option to buy, but wages could be an issue.

And that’s where the Magpies want to take advantage, according to Sport, who claim the club could convince Coutinho to join them by offering him a tasty £1million signing on bonus up front.

Rodrygo race hots up

Newcastle were linked with a move for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo earlier this week, with Los Blancos reportedly willing to expend the Brazilian.

Reports in Spain have claimed Rodrygo would become the victim of Real Madrid’s attempt to land Kylian Mbappe this summer and that Newcastle were one of the main interested parties.

But according to journalist Jorge Nicola on Youtube, Rodrygo, who is set to cost £33m, is also wanted by Liverpool this summer.
