Newcastle United ‘offered’ £40m sensation as impressive Bundesliga talent linked

Newcastle United will already be planning for next season having all-but secured top-flight safety.

The Magpies have put their relegation worries behind them after a fine run of form, and they are now concentrating on achieving a top-half finish.

Whether they get it or not, Eddie Howe has installed solid foundations ahead of next season when Newcastle will hope to be able to call upon a stronger squad.

It’s unlikely the Magpies will be able to spend huge amounts of money given the Financial Fair Play rules that govern spending.

But they are expected to be bold in he market, with Howe needing to improve in key areas if they club are to achieve their aim of competing in the top half of the table across a whole season.

Sarr offer

The Magpies are said to have been offered the chance to land Watford star Ismaila Sarr this summer.

The 24-year-old has impressed with the Hornetts since 2019, and he has been linked with the likes of Liverpool over recent months.

Football Transfers now claim, with Watford headed to the Championship, Newcastle have been offered the chance to land Sarr for around £40million this summer.

Newcastle do need to improve up top, and Sarr, who usually plays wide, could be an easy option.

Another player being linked with amove to St James’ Park is RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku.

Nkuku can play in midfield and further forward, and has netted as many as 29 goals in 92 Bundesliga appearances so far.

According to L’Equipe, Newcastle are one of a number of clubs tracking the 24-year-old ahead of a possible move.

Nkuku is a former PSG player, who made 55 league appearances for the French giants before moving on in 2019.
