Newcastle United are without Tino Livramento for tonight’s Premier League clash against Manchester United.

Eddie Howe has been forced into one change to his Newcastle United starting XI for tonight’s Premier League clash away to Manchester United.

The Magpies head to Old Trafford knowing if they avoid defeat they will secure a top seven finish and finish above the Red Devils for the first time in Premier League history.

And for the game, Howe has recalled Kieran Trippier at right-back with Tino Livramento ruled out.

The England under-21s international has been managing an ankle injury of late, which will now keep him out until next season, meaning he’ll also miss the final day visit to Brentford on Sunday.

As a result, Trippier makes his first start since March after a calf injury ruled him out for nine weeks. The 33-year-old said he is “100% fit” when speaking to the media after last weekend’s 1-1 draw at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.

“I’m 100% fit. I got a little cameo. Left back, right back, it doesn’t bother me. We’re dead frustrated with the result but we’ve got to move on, we’ve got another game on Wednesday.

“Throughout my whole career, since I went to Tottenham, I have been in Europe, be it Europa League or Champions League. With the way the club is going, it needs to be in Europe and competing at the top of the Premier League.”

Meanwhile, Newcastle remain without Callum Wilson through illness.

Newcastle will have one eye on Chelsea’s clash at Brighton this evening. If Howe’s men win at Old Trafford and Chelsea lose on the South Coast, a top six finish will be secured. Any slip up for the Magpies will see the Blues leapfrog them into sixth if they avoid defeat at the Amex.
