Newcastle United co-owner Jamie Reuben hailed the club’s “important” win at Brentford and the travelling Geordies.
First-half goals from Joelinton and Joe Willock saw the Magpies cruise to a 2-0 victory following Josh Dasilva’s 10th-minute red card for the hosts.

Dasilva’s dismissal, which came after Mike Dean reviewed his late challenge on Matt Targett at the VAR monitor, killed the early momentum from the hosts.
Although a return to football for Christian Eriksen momentarily boosted the Bees, United managed to regain control and claim a massive three points.
The win lifts Eddie Howe’s men above Brentford into 14th, opening up a four-point advantage over the Premier League relegation zone.

It’s another positive result for United in their fight against relegation as they extended their unbeaten run to seven matches.
Reacting to the victory, Reuben, who was in attendance at the Brentford Community Stadium, tweeted shortly after full-time: “Important result and a great performance.
“Thank you to the travelling @NUFC family for their tremendous support today!
