The Magpies marginally improved after the break as Chris Wood and Sean Longstaff, twice, missed big chances to claim three points.
United remain third in the Premier League table ahead of facing league leaders Arsenal on January 3.

1. Nick Pope - 7
Was quick off his line to prevent a couple of Leeds chances. Did well to save Rodrigo’s curling effort on 55 minutes. Kept his fifth successive clean sheet.
2. Kieran Trippier - 6
A hot and cold display by the right-back. Put in some dangerous, yet equally poor, delivers from open play and set pieces.
3. Fabian Schar - 7
Was heavily involved in the Leeds box. Headed a Trippier corner wide and brought a save from Meslier. Also had a first-half penalty appeal turned down.
4. Sven Botman - 7
Produced a number of vital blocks and interceptions. Almost slid home an in-swinging Trippier free-kick but couldn’t generate enough power.
