Newcastle United player ratings from the 4-1 win against Everton.
Newcastle United further underlined their Champions League credentials with a 4-1 win at Everton. A brace from Callum Wilson plus goals from Joelinton and Jacob Murphy sealed three points.
The Magpies survived a sloppy start at Goodison Park to take the lead on 28 minutes through Callum Wilson. Dominic Calvert-Lewin then had a goal ruled out for offside on the brink of half-time.
Joelinton made it 2-0 midway through the second-half. Wilson then added a third with stunning strike into the top right corner.
Dwight McNeil pulled one back directly from a corner but United immediately restored their three-goal advantage through subsitute Jacob Murphy.

2. Nick Pope - 7
Pope did his job when called upon before being beaten by Dwight McNeil’s corner. Kept only one clean sheet in 13 matches.

3. Kieran Trippier - 8
A proper captain’s performance full of heart and fight. Displayed his leadership when Everton had their moments.

4. Fabian Schar - 7
Passed a late fitness test to play. Produced some excellent defending to deny Calvert Lewin 19 minutes in. Later had a header kept out by Jordan Pickford and a goal ruled out for offside.
