Newcastle United player ratings v Tottenham: ‘Unbeatable’ star among three 9/10s in dominant win

Newcastle United player ratings from the 6-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

Newcastle United made a huge step towards sealing Champions League qualification by humiliating Tottenham Hotspur at St James’ Park.

Eddie Howe’s men became the second-fastest team in Premier League history behind Manchester City to score five goals in a single match.

Braces from Jacob Murphy and Alexander Isak, plus a goal from Joelinton put United 5-0 up within the opening 21 minutes. Substitute Callum Wilson netted a sixth in the 67th-minute.

Harry Kane netted a consolation goal at the beginning of the second-half but by then, the damage was well-and-truly done against a shell-shocked Tottenham.

The victory for United sees them open up a six-point advantage over fifth-place Spurs, still with a game in-hand to play.
