Newcastle United extended their unbeaten run to seven matches with a 2-2 draw against West Ham United at the London Stadium.
Tomas Soucek put the Hammers in front in the opening stages but two goals from Alexander Isak flicked the game on its head midway through the second-half. United, however, couldn’t hold out for three points with substitute Mohammed Kudus scoring late on.
Eddie Howe was forced into one change from the team that beat Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday as Elliot Anderson came in for the suspended Anthony Gordon. Callum Wilson, who had missed the last three games with a hamstring injury, returned to the bench.
West Ham opened the scoring on eight minutes when Nick Pope completely misjudged the run of Emerson in behind which allowed the Italian to set up Tomas Soucek, who tapped home into an empty net.
Isak equalised in the 57th minute when he capitalised on an error from Nayef Aguerd. The Swede then scored a second five minutes later when he directed Kieran Trippier’s low cross home.
Isak had a chance to claim a hat-trick and United were left to rue that missed opportunity as Kudus struck in the 89th-minute.

Caught in no man’s land for Soucek’s opener. Beaten by Cornet from distance but made amends with a late save to deny Bowen.
2. Kieran Trippier - 8
Another top level performance by the England international, whose standards rarely drop. Solid defensively and quality cross to set up Isak’s winner - his sixth assist in four games.
3. Jamaal Lascelles - 6
Didn’t track the run of Emerson in the build up to Soucek’s opener. Naive defending that almost cost Newcastle.
4. Fabian Schar - 7.5
Read the game well with a couple of important interpretations to stop West Ham from getting behind. Calm in possession, as you’d expect from the Swiss.
