Newcastle United predicted starting XI v Bournemouth: £83m trio drop out as 17y/o given shock start

Newcastle United predicted starting XI v Bournemouth: Bruno Guimaraes suspension blow hands first Premier League start to youngster.

Eddie Howe will need to make at least one change to his Newcastle United starting XI for this evening's Premier League trip to AFC Bournemouth (kick-off 5:30pm).

The Magpies are without key midfielder Bruno Guimaraes as he serves a one-match suspension after he picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in a heated encounter against Arsenal last Saturday.

How do United cope without their magic Brazilian?

“I don’t think you can replace Bruno with another Bruno," said Howe. "He’s very unique, got unique qualities and has done very well this season.

"We’ll replace him with someone with different qualities but who can still be a really effective player for us. I believe we can cope with his absence but it’ll be hard because he’s such an important player for us.”

Another change Howe could be forced into making is Callum Wilson. The former Cherries striker came off at half-time during the midweek defeat to Borussia Dortmund because of hamstring tightness.

Howe confirmed during Friday's press conference a late decision would be made on the No.9's involvement after he was called up by England for upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia.
