Newcastle United predicted starting XI v Wolves: Eddie Howe dealt late blow as £75m duo drop out

Newcastle United predicted starting XI v Wolverhampton Wanderers: Injuries forced Eddie Howe into changes.

The games continue to come thick and fast for Newcastle United as they switch their focus back to the Premier League this afternoon.

Three days after losing 1-0 to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League at St James’ Park, Eddie Howe’s side take on Wolverhampton Wanderers, and will do so without some key players.

The Magpies picked up three fresh injury concerns in midweek. Alexander Isak (thigh) and Jacob Murphy (dislocated shoulder) were forced to withdraw during the Dortmund game, while Elliot Anderson (back) was forced to sit out altogether.

And late on Friday night, it was confirmed by the FA that Sandro Tonali’s 10-month ban for illegal betting activity by the Italian Football Federation has taken effect in England.

Add those four players to the current list of Harvey Barnes, Sven Botman & Lewis Miley, and Newcastle are looking a little depleted.
