Newcastle United’s hunt for European qualification continues as they face an in-form Crystal Palace side at Selhurst Park tonight (kick-off 8pm).
The Magpies have had a 10-day break since thrashing Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 at St James’ Park and in that time, Palace have beaten both Liverpool and West Ham United.
Having made improvement under Oliver Glasner, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe isn’t underestimating the Eagles’ capabilities, especially with the likes of Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise firing.
“They have had two very good performances and I think that has been coming for them,” said Howe. “They have been playing very well and maybe not getting the results they deserved.
"Credit to the new manager who has come in and instantly played a new system that has got the best out of the players they have.
"It gives them a good platform to express themselves and I think, for us, we can’t underestimate this is going to be a difficult game against a team in form."
But United are also in form. They are unbeaten since the March international break, claiming 10 points from a possible 12, after beating Spurs, Fulham and West Ham, and drawing with Everton.
Howe’s men sit sixth in the Premier League table with six games to go. A third straight victory will guarantee they remain there ahead of Saturday’s home clash against relegation threatened Sheffield United.
