Newcastle United predicted XI v Tottenham Hotspur: Fresh injury blow as Harvey Barnes decision made

Newcastle United predicted starting XI for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Newcastle United host Tottenham Hotspur at St James’ Park on Saturday (kick-off 12:30pm), twelve months on from last season’s demolition job.

In what was labelled as a Champions League qualification decider, to say the Magpies blew Spurs away was an understatement. Indeed, no one could believe what followed when braces from Jacob Murphy and Alexander Isak, and a well-taken goal from Joelinton put United 5-0 up inside the opening 20 minutes. It finished 6-1, Harry Kane adding a consolation before Callum Wilson got in the act.

However, it’ll be no top four decider this time around. With injuries causing havoc throughout Newcastle’s campaign, finishing inside the top seven is their most realistic aim, whereas Spurs have progressed well under Ange Postecoglou and are in the driving seat for a Champions League return.

It is a big game for both sides, albeit their European aspirations slightly differ.

On the topic of injuries, United’s situation heading into the Tottenham game perhaps hasn’t been as critical in terms of numbers. With Joe Willock the latest casualty during last weekend’s 1-0 win at Fulham, Howe could be without a staggering 13 players.

So, how exactly will Newcastle line up against Spurs? Here’s our predicted starting XI:
