Newcastle United £17m transfer blow, ‘talks’ affecting Magpies and ‘willing to listen’ claim
The latest Newcastle United transfer news and rumours ahead of the summer window.
Newcastle United have already stated their intentions for the summer transfer window as they look to strengthen Eddie Howe’s squad during the close-season.
As NewcastleWorld revealed earlier this month, the Magpies have informed agents their priorities for the summer will be to sign a goalkeeper, centre-back, midfielder and a striker to their ranks before the new season gets underway in August.
However, they are also open to strengthening in other positions as they look to build on the impressive performances during the second half of the Premier League season.
Recent defeats against title contenders Manchester City and Liverpool have shown just how much work is to be done if they are to deliver on the ambitious plans of the club’s owners over the coming years.
But after a promising first transfer window under the ownership of the PIF-led consortium, when the likes of Kieran Trippier and Bruno Guimaraes joined the Magpies, there are high hopes the summer additions could have a similar impact next season.
NewcastleWorld takes a look at the latest names linked with a move to St James’ Park and how some have delivered a blow to the Magpies transfer plans.
