Newcastle United quintet eye Sunday Premier League return

FIVE Newcastle United players could make their first team return against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Newcastle United could have five key players return to fitness in time for the visit of Tottenham Hotpsur to St James’ Park on Sunday.

Skipper Jamaal Lascelles along with Callum Wilson are back out training with the group, as per photos released on the club website, while Martin Dubravka and Freddie Woodman were also pictured in action.

Meanwhile, Jonjo Shelvey stepped up his potential return with a run out for the under-23s, who beat Birmingham City 4-0 at Benton.

“It was good to get the 75 minutes under my belt,” Shelvey told NUFC TV.

“I’ve only really put that kit on once this season. It was nice to get the black and white back on and get some time.

“It was nice to get out there and find my passing range again.”
