Fulham are prepared to sell Antonee Robinson this summer - but only for a reported £35million. Newcastle United have been credited with interest in the USA international with Eddie Howe keen to sign a left-back.

The Magpies were a little light in that position last season. Dan Burn, a recognised central defender, played most of the campaign there, while injuries to Matt Targett during the first part of the season restricted the former Aston Villa man to just six Premier League starts.

Although Burn performed admirably by helping Newcastle record the joint-best defensive record in the league on their way to securing Champions League qualification, Howe believes the team will benefit from bolstering that area.

Robinson is into the final year of his contract at Craven Cottage and is refusing to extend his stay. According to the Evening Standard, the Cottagers will demand £35m for the 25-year-old, who is said to have admirers at Marseille, Manchester City and AC Milan.

Meanwhile, another player previously considered by Newcastle, Tosin Adarabioyo, has also turned down the chance to extend his contract in West London. A new central defender is also on Howe’s wishlist but will likely prioritise other positions first.

Once Sandro Tonali’s £60m move from AC Milan is confirmed later this week, Newcastle are expected to target another “elite” midfielder.
