Newcastle United ‘remain interested’ in ex-Sunderland man amid shock Christian Eriksen links

Newcastle United are now within touching distance of guaranteed Premier League safety following their win over Wolves last weekend.

The Magpies are now on 34 points for the season, and while they already have a healthy advantage over the bottom three, four more points will likely finish the job.

Newcastle continue to be linked with former Sunderland defender Jason Denayer.

The Lyon centre-back is available for free this summer, out of contract with the Ligue 1 giants.

And according to Ekrem Konour, they are competing with Napoli for the signing of Denayer, who is an attractive option, still only 26 years of age and available for nothing.

Both clubs are already free to agree a pre-contract agreement.

Christian Eriksen interest

The Magpies are said to be interested in pulling off a deal for Brentford star Christian Eriksen.

Eriksen has impressed with Brentford this season and his only under contract until the end of the season, as things stand.
