A move to Tyneside failed to come to fruition as the Magpies opted to sign Brighton defender Dan Burn in the closing hours of the window.

Brazilian international Bremer signed a new deal committing to the Serie A club until the end of the 2023/24 season - but that has not prevented a number of clubs to monitor his progress in Turin.

Inter Milan, Chelsea and Newcastle have all watched him in person throughout this season - and Sky Germany are now reporting Bayern Munich are showing an interest in the centre-back as they look to replace Borussia Dortmund-bound Nicklas Sule.

The French forward will enter the final 12 months of his current contract with the Bundesliga club this summer and is currently struggling to find the form that earned him a £20million move to Monchengladbach four years ago.

Plea has just four goals and two assists in 22 appearances so far this season as his side have slipped to within four points of the relegation zone in the German top flight.

That has left Monchengladbach to consider allowing the 28-year-old to depart at the end of the campaign according to Foot Mercato
