Newcastle United ‘rule out’ Neymar transfer as Magpies ‘ponder’ £15m exit

A look at all the latest Newcastle United transfer news and rumours as Eddie Howe’s men await their return to action.

Newcastle United are within touching distance of safety as we approach the business end of the season.

The Magpies suffered a big setback last week when they lost to Everton in their final game before the international break.

However, they remain on course to beat the drop, and they will be desperate to finish the job as soon as possible.

The break will be a frustration in that sense, but while we wait for club football to return, we have rounded up the latest transfer rumours:

Neymar off the table?

Newcastle are not expected to make a move for Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar Jr this summer.

In light of their new-found wealth, the Magpies have been linked with Neymar, as PSG prepare shuffle their ranks this summer after another season where they’ve failed to win the Champions League.

But The Telegraph suggest a move for the Brazilian won’t happen, with the Magpies ruling out ‘expensive superstar signings.’

Almiron for sale

Newcastle are expected to listen to offers for Miguel Almiron this summer.

According to Football Insider, the Magpies are open to a £15million sale of the forward despite pay more than that - around £21mi - to sign him in 2019.

The report claims Eddie Howe wants to free up space in his squad and that Almiron is likely to be one of the players set to head towards the exit door.
