Newcastle United are set to raid relegated Leicester City for another member of staff.

Less than 24 hours after the two teams played out a goalless draw at St James’ Park last month, Claire Burrows announced on Twitter she was joining the Magpies as Recruitment Operations Manager following three-and-a-half years at the King Power Stadium.

“So excited to announce that I will be joining Newcastle United as Recruitment Operations Manager,” Burrows posted. “Great club, great city and amazing passionate people. What a time to be joining - the aspiration and ambition of the club is only going up.”

And according to the Daily Mail, she’s about to be joined by Simon Capper, who will take over as chief financial officer as United look to adhere to Financial Fair Play regulations. Capper has spent 12 years at Leicester and previously worked at Sheffield United in the same position.

Although Capper has taken on an extremely important role at St James’ Park, supporters, naturally, are more inclined to hear about arrivals on the pitch as the summer transfer window edges closer to opening.

Leicester midfielder James Maddison has been back under the media spotlight this week with Eddie Howe hoping to land his long-term target. Talks are ongoing with the Foxes, who are understood to want £60million for the England international.
