Newcastle United will wait until after Sunday’s game with Burnley before deciding on Matt Targett’s future.
The left-back is currently on loan from Aston Villa - and Targett has hinted himself that he hopes the trip to Turf Moor isn’t his last in a black and white.

The 26-year-old has played every minute of the 15 matches he’s been available for. United are believed to have a £15million option to sign him permanently.
Asked about Targett, Howe said: “I’ll be sitting down with all my players at the end of the season and discussing their futures - I’ll be doing the same with Matt.

“I think it’s only right we get the season out the way first and concentrate on the games and the football before discussing things.”
Magpies supporters showed their appreciation towards Targett during the 2-0 victory over Arsenal, with chants of “one Matty Targett” heard on the terraces.
Howe agrees that Targett has been “outstanding” after joining when Newcastle sat in the Premier League relegation.
