All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding St James’ Park as Newcastle United pick up a huge three points.

Newcastle United picked up a huge result on Saturday as they look to force their way into the European spots. The Magpies made easy work of top four hopefuls Tottenham at home, and they have now set themselves up for a big push for Europe in the final games.

Eddie Howe’s men will need to be playing European football if the club want to continue spending big fees, and also if they want to attract top talent. In the meantime, we have rounded up the latest transfer news surrounding Elland Road.

Newcastle have been tipped to make a number of key sales this summer in a bid to raise funds for new signings. Journalist Ben Jacobs told GiveMeSport: "If Newcastle need money in this window, it's going to have to be, I would have thought, two or three smaller sales. Unless of course, somebody triggers the release clause of Bruno Guimaraes, and he wants to leave. In working out who those two or three names are, we now know that one of them won't be Joelinton.

“At €20m/€30m euros for Miguel Almiron, plus maybe Jamaal Lascelles? Are they going to be forced to entertain an offer from Kieran Trippier if Bayern Munich come calling again? Because I still think, from what people tell me, that Newcastle will want 30 to 50 million in sales over the course of this summer, just so they can breathe a little bit easier. I suppose the renewal of Joelinton is the first clue of a player that they don't want to put on the market, which reduces the list of how Newcastle can get to that 30 to 50 million."

Guimaraes interest

Manchester City reportedly want to get their hands on Newcastle star Bruno Guimaraes this summer. That’s according to Football Insider, who say the Brazilian is a candidate for City as they look to replace Kalvin Phillips and add depth to the holding midfield position.

Guimaraes is under a long contract at St James’ Park, but with Howe’s men likely to miss out on Champions League football, a club like City coming to the table could turn the midfielder’s head as he potentially looks to take the next step in his career.
