Newcastle United star given savage nickname by teammates after Manchester City victory

Newcastle United’s third-round Carabao Cup win over Manchester City was one to remember for Geordies.

It was Eddie Howe’s first career win against Pep Guardiola’s side, United’s fourth clean sheet in a row and it has set the tone for the season ahead after a difficult start.

Significantly, it also saw Tino Livramento make his first start for the club after his £32 million move from Southampton in the summer. An appearance no United fan will soon forget.

Livramento’s 90 minute performance was enough to earn him player of the match, however it seems his teammates were quick to humble the footballer after he celebrated the win on social media- by sharing his hilarious nickname with the world.

The 20-year-old shared some photos from the match to his Instagram with the simple caption ‘Next round ⚫️⚪️. ’

But, as always, a certain Jacob Murphy was lurking in the comments section, writing back ‘You’re that guy Teeny Tino 🔥’

With a Murphy nickname, it looks like Livramento is settling into the squad perfectly- both on and off the pitch.
