Newcastle United star sent three-word message by £20m star who already agreed to join

Tino Livramento did what many full-backs have failed to do this campaign - keep Mohamed Salah quiet.

A right-back by trade, a season-ending injury for Lewis Hall has seen Livramento start the last three matches at left-back.

Out of position and up against England’s most in-form forward, Livramento - like many of his teammates - delivered the performance of his life to end Newcastle United’s 70-year domestic trophy drought.

Newcastle beat Premier League champions-elect Liverpool 2-1 at Wembley, with Dan Burn and Alexander Isak on the scoresheet before Federico Chiesa pulled one back in stoppage time.

And to little surprise, mass celebrations followed at the full-time whistle.

Newcastle’s players have been reacting on social media since their victory, Livramento included.

The former Chelsea academy graduate posted on Instagram: “If 90 minutes summed up a city, together from the start till the very end. So proud to be a part of this incredible football club, enjoy your night Geordies, I love you all!🖤🤍 “

And among those to congratulate Livramento in the comments was Newcastle United transfer target James Trafford, who said: “What a great player.”

Last summer, Newcastle had a bid rejected by Burnley for Trafford despite agreeing personal terms with the young goalkeeper. The Clarets valued the 22-year-old at around £20million.

And according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the terms Trafford’s representatives agreed to with United last summer is still ‘valid’ ahead of the summer transfer window.

United have continued to scout the Englishman extensively this season having identified him as a long-term successor to Nick Pope. Trafford’s stock has risen this season, having kept 26 clean sheets in 37 Championship appearances.
