The relentless start to the 2023-24 season for a lot of Newcastle United’s players continues as they prepare to represent their countries over the next week or so.
Since returning from the last international break in mid September, the Magpies have played seven games in just 23 days and in that time remained unbeaten - beating Brentford, Sheffield United and Burnley in the Premier League, dumping Manchester City out of the Carabao Cup and beginning their Champions League Group F campaign with a point in AC Milan and three against Paris Saint-Germain at St James’ Park.
Some players will enjoy a period during the break. Many, however, will play for their respective nations before getting ready for United’s league clash at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday, October 21. Here’s a look at the players called up for international duty:
