One of Sean Longstaff’s tweets from ten years ago has resurfaced showing his love for Newcastle United.

Longstaff joined fellow Geordie Dan Burn on the scoresheet marking a memorable and historic night at St James’ Park.

And now Newcastle fans have dug up a gem of a tweet from Longstaff. In March 2013, the now 25-year-old wrote: ‘Tonight was unreal, when we scored they went right past me #nufc #ballboy.’

It’s a full-circle moment, with fans now writing below: ‘Fast forward a few years and you scored against PSG.’

Another said: ‘The ball boys look up to you now boss.’

It was an emotional night for Longstaff, who, after the 4-1 win, reflected on his time at the club.

“It’s some night. I think we knew it was going to be special with the atmosphere but for me and Burny to score on a night like tonight is pretty surreal,” said Longstaff.

“I am lost for words really.

“I think, to be honest, there are some of us that thought three years ago we were probably out of the door and it wasn’t a great place to be.

“I am so proud to be from Newcastle and I am over the moon.”
