Newcastle United starting XI v Arsenal: Bombshell confirmed as £95m duo recalled

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has named three changes to his starting XI for tonight's Premier League clash against Arsenal.

Loris Karius starts in goal for Newcastle United against Arsenal in the Premier League this evening (kick-off 8pm).

The German goalkeeper's last - and only - appearance for the Magpies was almost exactly 12 months ago when he started the Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester United.

Martin Dubravka, who has stood in for the injured Nick Pope in recent months, is unavailable because of illness so Karius makes his first Premier League appearance since May 2018.

Having drawn 2-2 against AFC Bournemouth last weekend without a recognised senior striker, Howe has recalled Alexander Isak to the starting XI after a recurring groin problem kept him out of the last three games.

The third and final change sees Tino Livramento start ahead of Dan Burn at left-back.

Meanwhile, former Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock returns to the matchday squad with a place on the bench. The 24-year-old hasn't featured since November and been restricted to just six appearances this term having suffered from a hamstring and an Achilles injury.
