Newcastle beat Leicester City 4-0 on Saturday and head coach Eddie Howe has kept faith with the same starting XI. Indeed, the only change to the matchday squad sees Sean Longstaff (suspended) drop off the bench and replaced by 18-year-old Lewis Miley.
The Magpies, who travel to Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Saturday, are aiming to reach the semi-finals of the League Cup for the second time in three seasons.
Brentford beat United 4-2 at the Gtech Community Stadium 10 days ago but haven’t won at St James’ Park since their promotion to the Premier League in 2021. Meanwhile, Eddie Howe’s side have only lost three times on home turf in 2024.
