Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe is expected to make wholesale changes to his starting XI against Bromley.
The League Two side visit St James’ Park in third round of the FA Cup this afternoon (kick-off 3pm) and Howe will use the opportunity to heavily rotate his side following a physically challenging period.
The Magpies head into the match having won three away games on the spin at Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
“We knew going into the Arsenal game the lads that had played the majority of the minutes were in a good place mentally but physically they were a little bit tired,” Howe explained. “We always had this game on the horizon in a short space of time and knew we would have to rotate our squad but we've got very good players that are desperate to play and desperate to show their qualities.
“It's a good game for them to showcase those qualities but also we have to get through, that is our aim, so we have to pick a strong enough squad.”
Several fringe players will get an opportunity to impress as United look to avoid a cup upset. They have been the victims of an upset in recent seasons having lost to both Cambridge United and Sheffield United in round three.
