Howe made eight changes for the Carabao Cup win against AFC Wimbledon in midweek but reverts back to the line-up that held Premier League champions Manchester City to 1-1 draw last Saturday.
Swelling around Nick Pope’s knee has eased, which sees him start in goal behind a back four of Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar, Dan Burn and Lewis Hall. Trippier and Schar have also shaken off the knocks they picked up versus City and Wimbledon, respectively.
Sandro Tonali retains his place in midfield alongside Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton, who is walking disciplinary tightrope. Having picked up four yellow cards this term, the Brazilian is only one away from a one-match ban.
Meanwhile, Anthony Gordon leads the line on his return to Goodison Park with Alexander Isak out with a broken toe. Jacob Murphy and Harvey Barnes are deployed either side of Gordon.
It is the first time this campaign Howe has named the same starting XI for two consecutive games.
On facing Everton, Howe said: “Whenever you go there it’s a difficult game. The ground, it is the last time I think we’ll visit there, has gone that feel that the fans are involved in the game right from the off, they’re very close to the pitch.
“How you start the game and impose yourself is hugely important so we want to be really positive in our approach but we have to learn lessons from the Fulham game. We did for the Manchester Citygame but it is still relevant in my mind that we need to sure we’re the Manchester City team.”
There are two changes to the bench with goalkeepers Odysseas Vlachodimos and John Ruddy replacing Martin Dubravka, who has bruising around the knee, and young defender Alex Murphy.
