Football icon David Beckham has shown his respect for Newcastle United after they were crowned Carabao Cup winners.
The Magpies beat Liverpool 2-1 at Wembley to end their 70-year trophy drought. Dan Burn put United in front before Alexander Isak doubled the lead shortly after the break. Federico Chiesa pulled one back for the Reds in stoppage time but it was too little, too late.

Howe has become the first Newcastle manager since Joe Harvey in 1969 to win a trophy on Tyneside. But Howe would rather the players receive all the credit.
He said: “I think you're pleased for other people, really. I'm so pleased for the players. They've all had different journeys to get to this point, but we've come together as a squad. I love working with them every day. Honoured to be their leader.
“And for the supporters who came in there thousands today who supported us back home. Since I've been at the football club, the support we've had home and away has been incredible.
“So I'm just so pleased they have this trophy to end the long wait. And hopefully we can get some more in the future.

“I think there's different ways to win trophies. Today we won it in the best way. We played a brilliant opponent. We've been the best team in the Premier League all season by a long way. And for me, we were the better team.”
