Newcastle United are awaiting news on Callum Wilson after the striker went for a scan on his hamstring.
The Magpies No.9 was withdrawn in the 70th-minute against Manchester City on Sunday after feeling tightness in his hamstring.

The 30-year-old went for a scan on Monday and United head coach Eddie Howe is hopeful his injury won’t be too serious.


Howe said: “Yeah, he’s OK. The normal process is he’s gone for a scan and we’re awaiting those results. We hope it’s not too serious.”

He added: “I don’t think it’ll be serious but with a hamstring, you’ve got to be very careful, not just with Callum but with any player.
“We’ll wait and see the results and see how long he’ll be out for.”
Wilson has scored two goals in United’s opening three Premier League matches as he sets his sights on a place in England’s World Cup squad.
