Newcastle United are set to make late calls on Fabian Schar, Chris Wood and Ryan Fraser ahead of Sunday’s season finale at Burnley.
Schar went off with concussion during the 2-0 win over Arsenal on 49 minutes and was replaced by captain Jamaal Lascelles.
The Magpies have been following the concussion protocols - and will a decision closer to kick-off at Turf Moor, which is at 4pm.
Chris Wood, hoping to face his former club, missed the last game with a hip problem.
Meanwhile, Ryan Fraser felt his hamstring after coming on as a sub against the Gunners having only just returned from the same issue.
Howe, speaking to the media ahead of Sunday, said: “Ryan Fraser might be out of the game.
“He came on but had slight awareness in his hamstring, I don’t think it’s a re-injure but there is awareness in his hamstring again.”
On Wood, Howe said: “We’re going to try him today in training and see how he looks.
“At the time, we didn’t think it was a serious injury so fingers crossed he gets through training today.”
On Schar, Howe added: “Fabian we haven’t seen. We’re following concussion protocols.
“I believe he is going to do something outside today but we’ll follow the protocols closely. I think there will be a late decision on Fabian.”
