Allan Saint-Maximin and Sean Longstaff could be available for Newcastle United’s Premier League clash against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 4:30pm).
As reported by NewcastleWorld, Saint-Maximin was facing an extended spell on the sidelines after hurting his hamstring during the 5-1 win at West Ham United on Wednesday, April 5.
The Frenchman started his recovery in France and missed games against Brentford, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur. He returned to Tyneside last week but wasn’t deemed fit enough to be involved versus Everton and Southampton.
Saint-Maximin could, according to the Daily Telegraph, return this weekend as he prepares to resume full training with his teammates.
Longstaff, meanwhile, is aiming to be fit for Arsenal after an x-ray revealed only swelling and bruising in his foot. It was initially feared the midfielder had broken a bone following a heavy challenge by Everton defender James Tarkowski.
The return of both players will be subject to a late fitness test.
