Newcastle United are set for a triple injury boost ahead of Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Manchester United (kick-off 4:30pm).
In photos posted by the club’s media on Wednesday (February 22), Joe Willock, Matt Targett and Joelinton were all spotted in training as Eddie Howe prepares his squad for Wembley.

Hide AdWillock missed last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool because of a hamstring injury, and Howe said at Tuesday’s media day that the 23-year-old was “touch and go” for the cup final.
“Joe Willock will probably be touch and go during the week,” Howe told the local media. “He’s improved, (it will) probably be a late decision on him.”
There still might be a “late decision” from Howe, but Willock’s return to the training pitch is a big indication that he will feature against the Red Devils.
Targett is also set to be named in the matchday squad for the first time since Boxing Day after recovering from a heel injury.

“Certainly, Matt Targett’s improved a lot,” said Howe. “He had a game at the weekend. We thought it was wise to leave him out of the game, and really pleased with his fitness.
“I was really pleased with what he did, so I’d say yeah, he’ll be available for selection.”

There was no Ryan Fraser spotted in the training gallery amid reports the winger is currently training with the club’s under-21s.
The 28-year-old hasn’t featured for United since October and expressed a desire to leave St James’ Park in January after falling down the pecking order.
