Wolverhampton Wanderers v Newcastle United early team news: Injuries plus Sandro Tonali latest.

Newcastle United’s busy fixture list continues to take its toll with a number of players either ruled out or are a doubt for this evening’s Premier League at Wolverhampton Wanderers (kick-off 5:30pm).

Both Alexander Isak and Jacob Murphy were forced to withdraw during Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, while Elliot Anderson was among the players missing altogether.

Not only is it injuries. Magpies head coach Eddie Howe is now without £52million summer signing Sandro Tonali for the next 10 months.

On Thursday, the Italian Football Federation announced the midfielder was banned for 10 months following an investigation into illegal betting.

FIFA finally ratified the suspension worldwide last night, meaning the Italian is unavailable for selection until August 2024.

Meanwhile, Newcastle were boosted by the return of Joe Willock in midweek after the former Arsenal man spent five months on the sidelines.
