Newcastle United are at home this weekend for their last match before the winter break for the FIFA World Cup. To say the Magpies are having a good season would be certainly an understatement and next up for the black and white bandwagon is the visit of Chelsea.
Eddie Howe’s men are currently third in the Premier League and even defeat against Chelsea won’t result in them dropping any lower that fourth heading into the break. The midweek Carabao Cup win against Crystal Palace adds to Newcastle’s long unbeaten run which stretches all the way back to August.

Opponents Chelsea are without a league win since the middle of October. Graham Potter suffered defeat at his old club Brighton and this was followed up with a 1-0 loss at home to Arsenal.
Newcastle should fancy their chances of extending their unbeaten home record to eight matches. This is a run which stretches back to April. A win against Chelsea would see them move nine points clear of their London opponents.
