It’s an all Premier League affair as Newcastle welcome Leicester City to St James’ Park in the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup. Newcastle head into the clash as strong favourites against a struggling Leicester side.

Newcastle have been in scintillating form under Eddie Howe this season and find themselves third in the Premier League, hot on the heels of Manchester City and current leaders Arsenal.

Despite their great league form, they fell to a disappointing FA Cup third round defeat to League One outfit Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend. The Magpies will look to shake off that cup upset to reach the final four of the Carabao Cup.

Meanwhile, their opponents Leicester did progress in the FA Cup beating Gillingham, who prop up the table in League Two. A second half strike from former Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho was the difference between the two sides.

The two sides recently played each other in the league, and it was both clubs’ first domestic league game since the World Cup. Newcastle dismantled Leicester 3-0 away from home on December 26, 2022.

When does Newcastle v Leicester kick off?

Newcastle v Leicester will kick off at 8pm on Tuesday, January 10 at St James’ Park.
