Newcastle United v Wolves team news: Fresh injury blow as eight ruled out and two doubtful

Newcastle United v Wolverhampton Wanderers team news ahead of this afternoon’s Premier League meeting at St James’ Park.

Newcastle United are set to have Fabian Schar back available for the visit of Wolverhampton Wanderers today (kick-off 4:30pm).

The Switzerland defender missed last weekend’s 2-0 defeat at Manchester City through concussion protocols but has trained this week. Whether he starts however is a different matter, with captain Jamaal Lascelles performing well in Schar’s absence.

Elsewhere, Bruno Guimaraes is fine to feature, despite feeling some pain in his ankle at the Etihad. Among the Magpies players missing however is Joelinton, who will serve the first of his two-match ban.

Wolves, meanwhile, could be without up to six first-team players for their trip to St James’ Park. Here, we take a look at the players ruled out, and those who are doubtful:
