Newcastle United WAG shares fresh gym photos after incredible transformation

Newcastle United skipper Bruno Guimaraes is married to Ana Lidia Martins, who often shares shots of their lives on social media.

Newcastle United skipper Bruno Guimaraes has been described as un-athletic by some supposed football pundits. But here at NewcastleWorld, we only speak the truth. And while he may not be the quickest man on the park, few, if any outrun or outthink the man who will always be the captain who brought silverware back to Tyneside for the first time since 1969.

And it’s fair to say the player is not the only athletic soul in his own household, with wife Ana Lidia Martins showing that it’s something that clearly runs in the family. Martins regularly shares shots into the Brazilian pair’s lives through her social media, with her Instagram stories and grid littered with images and videos of Bruno and sons Matteo and Pietro.

Sometimes, though, it’s Martins’ own fitness journey that takes centre stage. And while sometimes it’s shots training with her Newcastle United partner, recently, she has been documenting her own fitness journey - and transformation.

In her latest social posts Martins poses to the camera with fitness equipment all around her, showing her lean physique to her followers. See picture below.

Martins has also in recent times shown herself to train with fellow Brazilian Newcastle United WAG Thays Gondim, wife of Joelinton, with the two families and couples having struck up a strong bond on Tyneside.

Bruno Guimaraes ‘goal’ ruled out by VAR

Martins was in attendance at St James’ Park on Saturday as her husband led the Magpies in their 3-0 win over Ipswich Town, a result which not only underlined Newcastle’s Champions League credentials, but also sent the Tractor Boys back down to the Championship.

While it was goals from Alexander Isak, Dan Burn and William Osula that helped the Magpies to three more points and a rise back to third in the top flight table, Bruno can count himself unlucky not to have gotten on the scoresheet on the day.

With the game tied at 0-0 in the first half, the Brazil international was deemed to have backed into the Ipswich keeper, as the ball tumbled into the net. Despite not really making much contact with the player, the goal was ruled out. Guimaraes also went close with a second half volley, as the Magpies looked to round off a comfortable afternoon on home turf.

Champions League qualification: the race for the top five

With just four games left to play, Newcastle find themselves with the initiative in the race for a top five spot. They sit third in the table, five points back from Arsenal in second, with the Gunners still to play at the Emirates in May. While second may well be out of their reach, third, fourth and fifth isn’t. Newcastle are currently one point above Manchester City in fourth, two ahead of Chelsea in fifth and Nottingham Forest in sixth. Aston Villa sit a further three back from those two on 57 points, that’s five behind the Magpies with a much worse goal difference.
