Newcastle United, West Ham & Everton ‘scout’ striker during Liverpool game, available for £18m

Representatives of Newcastle United were reportedly at Anfield on Sunday.

Newcastle United were reportedly among the Premier League clubs to scout Strasbourg star Ludovic Ajorque over the weekend.

Ajorque, a 6ft 6in striker, featured in the Ligue 1 club’s 3-0 pre-season victory against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

And according to Sky Sports, scouts from Newcastle, Everton, West Ham, Leicester City, Fulham, Wolves, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest were all in attendance at Anfield to cast their eye over the 28-year-old.

Ajorque has played for the likes of Angers and Clermont Foot before finding a home with Strasbourg since moving to the Stade de la Meinau in the summer of 2018.

Ajorque helped Strasbourg to a French League Cup final win against Guingamp during his first season with the club and featured in their unsuccessful attempt to reach the Europa League group stages during the following campaign.

The centre forward gradually found his feet in France’s top tier and has scored 28 goals and provided 12 assists in 71 Ligue 1 appearances over the last two seasons.

It’s understood Ajorque, who has two years remaining on his current contract, is available for £18million with the Magpies keen on bolstering their attack line this summer.
