Newcastle United Women to return to St. James’ Park for last game of the season

At their last St. James’ Park outing, almost 30,000 people were in attendance.

Newcastle United Women will play at St. James’ Park once again on Sunday 16th April in their final game of the season.

Playing against Bradford City AFC Women in the FA National Women’s League Division One North, the match will be the teams third outing at the stadium since May 2022.

The Mags are currently second in the league, seven points behind Durham Cestria, and have won their last eight consecutive league matches.

In the midst of their winning-streak, the side will host Durham Cestria at Kingston Park Stadium on Tuesday 14 March.

Becky Langley, Newcastle United Women’s head coach, said: “This is an exciting moment for the team to play at St. James’ Park once again in front of incredible support. The last two times at the stadium we have received fantastic support, which has made a huge difference to the team as we continue to push forward.

“Once again this is a great opportunity to showcase women’s football in the North East and we hope to continue inspiring a new generation of girls and women to play and enjoy the game. Walking out at St. James’ Park is a special moment for everybody at Newcastle United Women and this will once again be an occassion to savour.”

In the women’s inaugral match at St. James, 22,134 people were in attendance to watch Newcastle beat Alnwick Town 4-0.

At their second, the crowd rose to 28,565.
