Newcastle United’s 2022/23 home and away kits have supposedly been leaked - and it’s got fans talking on social media.

Into the second year of Castore’s “multi-year” partnership as the Magpies’ kit suppliers, this season’s shirts have divided opinion somewhat, especially the home top.

Several supporters were left unimpressed after the thick black and white stripes and the placing on the FUN88 sponsor made it look like there was a number four on the front of the shirt.

In the leaked version circulating online - rumoured to be next season’s kit - over the last 24 hours, the stripes are thinner but features no sponsor.

Meanwhile, the away kit is white and green - resembling Saudi Arabian, whose Public Investment Fund own 80% of the club, colours.

It is worth noting that Newcastle are yet to reveal any details of their new shirts. Also, kit ‘leaks’ in the past haven’t always proved to be the most reliable.

How Newcastle fans reacted on social media

@ryanadcock17: If these are legit…. Unreal

@JonSadler: I’d be happy with both of these kits. Both very smart.

@Carl_83: Personally I like that home top. Stick a Newcastle brown ale badge on the front it would look very familiar.

@NUFC_Danny: Got the potential to go either way this. Until we see the sponsor etc we won’t know. That blue kit could be unreal #NUFC

@SteveBr0028715: Don’t like the home shirt. I believe the blue is a 3rd kit (quite like it) do still hope for a magical yellow away kit for our Brazilian Ballers.

@adilangley: Am I the only #nufc fan that doesn’t actually like these? I want new, inventive, everyone take notice kind of shirts. To me, these just look cheap and like not a lot of thought has gone into them.

@JLAW_BROSKI: Underwhelming tbf I doubt they’re are right as that home has thicker stripes on the back so doubt they’d do that.
