Newcastle United's brilliant £340m starting XI if transfer rumours are true

Is this how Eddie Howe's Newcastle United starting eleven will look when the January transfer window comes to a close?

The January transfer window will reach its midway point over the coming days - and Newcastle United are still waiting to make their first move of the month.

Speculation over who could be the latest additions to Eddie Howe's squad is growing on a daily basis after the likes of Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen, Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos and Sporting CP centre-back Ousmane Diomande were all linked with a move to St James Park in recent days.

There have also been current members of the Magpies ranks linked with moves away from Tyneside in recent days. Isaac Hayden's loan spell at Belgian club Standard Liege has been cut short and he has been suggested as a target for Premier League clubs Luton Town and Sheffield United and club captain Jamaal Lascelles is said to have drawn interest from Turkish side Besiktas.

As we await Newcastle's first move in the window, we assess how Eddie Howe's squad could look when the month comes to and end.
