Newcastle United’s confirmed line-up v Manchester United: Three big changes as Loris Karius starts

Newcastle United’s confirmed starting XI to face Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final.

Newcastle United’s starting XI is in - and Eddie Howe has named three changes for the Carabao Cup against Manchester United.

The obvious, of course, is Loris Karius’ inclusion. The German makes his first competitive appearance in two years as he stands in for the suspended Nick Pope.

Karius has dominated much of the pre-match headlines, but the 29-year-old is eyeing the perfect redemption story to silence 2018 Champions League final talk.

Bruno Guimaraes returns to the starting line-up following his three-match suspension, and comes in for Geordie midfielder Elliot Anderson.

And finally, Callum Wilson leads the attack, with Alexander Isak dropped to the bench. Allan Saint-Maximin and Miguel Almiron line-up in the wide areas.

Back on the bench are Joe Willock and Matt Targett following their return from injury. Here’s Newcastle United’s starting XI and subs in full:
