Newcastle United's confirmed starting XI v Aston Villa: £33m double boost amid Miguel Almiron decision

Newcastle United's confirmed starting XI v Aston Villa: Eddie Howe makes Miguel Almiron decision.

Newcastle United welcome back Miguel Almiron for tonight's Premier League clash against Aston Villa (kick-off 8:15pm) - but the Paraguayan will have to make do with a place on the bench.

Almiron, who has attracted interest from Saudi Pro League side Al Shabab, missed Saturday's FA Cup fourth round win at Fulham through illness. That only fuelled talk of a potential exit but his involvement is confirmation that is staying on Tyneside with the Saudi window closing tonight.

Eddie Howe's side are also boosted by Kieran Trippier's involvement. The England international withdrew with a groin injury at the weekend but retains his spot in the starting XI. Among the travelling party are Joe White, who recently returned from a loan spell at Crewe Alexandra, and 18-year-old Travis Hernes.

Newcastle head to Villa Park this evening on the back of consecutive away wins in the FA Cup against Sunderland and Fulham. However, Howe's men are without a Premier League away win since September - an 8-0 win at Sheffield United.

Villa meanwhile have picked up 28 points out of a possible 30 at Villa Park, a home record that is the best in England's top-flight.
