Newcastle United’s confirmed starting XI v Borussia Dortmund: Shock as £66m duo drop out

Eddie Howe has made three changes to his Newcastle United’s starting XI for tonight’s Champions League clash v Borussia Dortmund.

Eddie Howe has sprung a series of surprises when naming his Newcastle United starting XI for this evening’s Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund (kick-off 5:45pm).

The Magpies’ boss has named three changes from the 1-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday evening. Dan Burn drops out after picking up a back injury, but it is the absence of Anthony Gordon and Miguel Almiron that has caused the most shock.

In the duo’s place, Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall start. Willock also comes in,

Nick Pope continues in goal with Hall coming in for Burn at left back. Jamaal Lascelles and Fabian Schar and Kieran Trippier form the rest of the back four right back.

Sean Longstaff, Bruno Guimaraes and Willock line up in midfield, with Livramento and Joelinton playing either side of Callum Wilson.
