Newcastle United's confirmed starting XI v Bournemouth: £90m trio drop out in new injury blow

Newcastle United's confirmed starting XI v Bournemouth: Eddie Howe makes three changes as £90m trio drop out.

Eddie Howe has made three changes to his Newcastle United starting XI for this evening's Premier League clash against Bournemouth.

Howe has handed a first league start to 17-year-old Lewis Miley in place of the suspended Bruno Guimaraes. Meanwhile, Tino Livramento drops to the bench with Miguel Almiron recalled. Anthony Gordon leads the line in place of the injured Callum Wilson.

Wilson started the 2-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday evening but was brought off at half-time because of hamstring tightness. He has been called up to Gareth Southgate's England squad for Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia next weekend but is now a major doubt.

Including Wilson and Guimaraes, Howe is without 11 senior players for his return to the South Coast.

Alexander Isak, Harvey Barnes, Jacob Murphy, Dan Burn, Elliot Anderson, Sven Botman, Javier Manquillo and Matt Targett are injured, while Sandro Tonali is serving a 10-month ban from football.

Howe has called up under-21s trio Amadou Diallo, Alex Murphy and Ben Parkinson to the bench. The latter two appeared for the Magpies' first-team in pre-season.
