Newcastle United’s confirmed starting XI v Bournemouth: Two shock absences for Eddie Howe’s side

Newcastle United’s starting XI to face Bournemouth has been confirmed - and there are two shock absences.

Newcastle United are without Callum Wilson for tonight’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth (kick-off 5:30pm).

The Magpies striker’s absence has forced Eddie Howe into one change on the South Coast as club-record signing Alexander Isak starts his league match since September.

Wilson had started the last eight games and broke his 11-game goal-drought by scoring the opener in United’s 1-1 draw versus West Ham last Saturday.

But the 30-year-old hasn’t travelled to the Vitality Stadium, so Isak takes his place having missed last weekend through concussion protocols.

Club captain Jamaal Lascelles is the other absence for United. Although he’s played just eight games this season, the centre-back had been named in every match day squad.
