Newcastle United’s confirmed starting XI v West Ham: £80m duo drop out as two players return

Newcastle United’s confirmed starting XI to face West Ham United at the London Stadium.

Eddie Howe has named two changes to his Newcastle United starting XI for this evening’s Premier League clash against West Ham United (kick-off 8pm).

With this the Magpies’ second fixture in just four days, Howe has opted to rotate his line-up - handing a recall to Joelinton and Callum Wilson.

Joelinton starts for the first time since serving his three-match suspension, while Wilson is named ahead of Isak. The United No.9 scored in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Manchester United after coming on as a substitute.

“It’s important for Calllum that he scores,” Howe said. “I saw Callum during the international break but in a really good shift to get himself back to his best condition. I had no hesitation in backing him and knowing the goals will come because he’s got that experience.

“His goal is a typical Callum goal - really good movement in the box, got a yard of space and finished it well.”
